With 363 hours of service work, senior Olivia King has earned the highest four year total of service hours at WGHS.
King is a student whose heart lies with making impactful differences. King didn’t just volunteer for A+ hours but to help people who need it.
King said, “I wanted to choose organizations that combated social injustices. I knew food insecurities were a major prevalence, and in hospitals, many healthcare workers were understaffed, so I wanted to serve my time in a meaningful way and help make a difference.”
Most of King’s service hours came from the summers, volunteering at Webster-Rock Hill Ministries and Saint Louis University Hospital, along with various events through the Interact Club, King “combined her passion for helping others and her career interests/hobbies,” she said
King hasn’t decided which college she will attend, but she plans to pursue a degree in biomedical engineerin, and potentially go on to medical school after that.
