Senior Adi Johnson is the current vice president of Student Council and on the student board for federal reserve, and she was the first runner-up in Missouri Girls State, a mock government in which she served as a representative.

Johnson is also plays piano and clarinet. During her senior year, Johnson was a section leader for marching band. In her time as a musician in WGHS, she’s struck a chord with her piano teacher, Jill Young, who couldn’t be happier to have a student like her.

“We had a student from Epworth that was just having a little bit of trouble getting used to our school, and she was really kind to her,” Young said, “and I didn’t even ask her to do that, but she went out of her way to kind of make this student feel welcome.”

Johnson is known for helping new students adjust to the school, and her positive attitude makes them feel welcome. She’s helpful towards students and teachers when anything comes up. Johnson also does community service at her church.
Johnson will be missed at WGHS, but Young is confident Johnson will bring the same joy to everyone around her wherever she goes next.

About what advice she had for Johnson, Young replied, “Just keep your positive attitude. The world, sometimes, can be… not the nicest place, but if you keep the attitude that you have now, and you try to do your best, just like you’re doing right now, you’re gonna be successful even though you might hit some ups and downs along the way.”
