Student athlete accepted into Vanderbilt

Blake Fields, senior, plans to attend Vanderbilt University after graduating in hopes of studying electrical engineering.
In 2016 the acceptance rate of Vanderbilt was 10.7 percent.

Fields described his acceptance into Vanderbilt as a, “weight off of his shoulders.”

Jay Blossom, men’s basketball coach, described Fields as a hard worker, determined very focused.

“(Field’s) is the epitome of a student athlete. He’s an example of how good work in the classroom pays off,” Blossom said.
Field’s played a part in the basketball State win.

“It was a lot of fun to win State and to go out senior year like that,” Fields said. “I’m going to miss playing basketball.”
Cam Potts, senior, called Fields a, “great teammate.”

“He’s very uplifting and keeps everyone’s spirits up,” Potts said. “I’ve never seen him in a bad mood.”

Fields advice to underclassmen is to “work hard and play hard.”
