Karlie Kloss, born in Chicago, IL. was discovered in St. Louis at a charity fashion show when she was 13 years old.
School is stressful at times for Kloss. She misses a lot of her classes because of traveling, so to make up for what she is missing, she is currently enrolled in a program called Missouri options.
Missouri Options is basically online classes, at the end of these courses, students take a GED test which determines whether or not that student will receive a diploma.
Getting an education is very important to Kloss. About her plans after high school, she said, “College is something I really want to do. I just need to find the right school, and I don’t want to have to do it halfway because of my career.”
“I definitely look up to her. Not only because of what she does, she’s just a really good sister,” said sophomore Kimberly Kloss.
In addition to modeling, Kloss has done ballet since about fourth grade.
“She used to ride her bike to her ballet classes; she was really committed to it,” Kimberly said.
Kloss is ranked fourth on the Top 50 Women Models by models.com, and Vogue Paris declared her one of the top 30 models of the 2000s.
Kloss has been in advertisements for designers, including Donna Karan, Chloé, Lacoste, Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Gap, Dior, which she stated as her favorite campaign and American Eagle.
She has walked for numerous designers in New York, London, Milan and Paris, including Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Gucci, Valentino, Louis Vuitton and Versace.
