During her time at Webster Groves High School, senior Sloane Carfield has made an impact through her community service.
Carfield said, “I have done a lot of community service through the Chelsea Center, including putting on a COVID supply stand, volunteering at Webster Rock Hill Ministries and mentoring middle schoolers in Hixson’s Leadership program.”
Carfield added, “I also am a co-president of Interact Club, and I am the youth liaison for the Webster Groves Police Community Engagement Board. Being a part of the board has been a really great opportunity to work alongside adults who share my passion for advocating for more equitable policing.”
Not only has Carfield helped out her community through different services, she’s also gotten rewards for her academics.
Carfield said, “I am a member of the National Honor Society, Honor Code Committee and the Teaching and Learning Cohort.”
Carfield said her favorite memory from high school was, “The Marketing trip to New York. It was really fun to be able to explore the city with my friends and hear from all of the businesses. We also saw ‘Back to the Future’ on Broadway, and it was really cool! My favorite part was exploring Times Square with my friends.”
Carfield will attend Vanderbilt University and major in elementary education with the hope of becoming a teacher or pursuing some kind of career working alongside children.
