Argentina defeated France to win the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 9 a.m. Central Time, at Lusail Stadium in Lusail City, Qatar.
Regulation time ended in a 3-3 tie, with goals from Argentina’s Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María as well as three goals from France’s Kylian Mbappé. Argentina won in penalty kicks with a final penalty score of 4-2.
Junior Coty Ripoll, Argentinian exchange student, is excited about the win.
“I was cursing all over in Spanish when France made a goal,” Ripoll said via direct message. “I was so worried that we wouldn’t win, but we did, and I’m really happy about it.”
