2024-25 Echo staff members earned Quill and Scroll’s International First Place Rating for Comprehensive News Multimedia with Superior Ratings for General Practices and Coverage.
Quill and Scroll is an international honorary society for high school journalists that encourages and recognizes individual student achievement in journalism and scholastic publication.
Since Quill and Scroll’s founding, school charters have been granted to more than 11,300 high schools in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and 29 foreign countries.
The judge said, ” Your efforts this year have been driven by thoughtful reflection and recalibration. The Echo is a vibrant publication that reflects the values, curiosity and creativity of the Webster Groves community. Across print, digital and multimedia formats, the staff demonstrates strong editorial judgment, a clear sense of audience and a willingness to grow.”
The judge also said, “The Echo is a thoughtful, relevant voice for your community, one that reflects the moments, decisions and perspectives that matter most at Webster Groves. That’s no small thing. You have the curiosity, the work ethic and the creativity to keep building on that foundation.”
