Activities director to retire at end of school year

After 24 years in the school district and the last 19 as activities director, Jerry Collins has announced his retirement from the public school system.

The announcement was sent out by principal Matt Irvin early on Friday, Nov 10.

During his time as activities director Collins’ made contributions to the athletic department including 11 State championships and two recognitions as the top school of the St. Louis Suburban Conference for Athletic Excellence, according to the announcement.

The announcement stated that a search for a new activities director will begin in a timely manner.
