“Education is the key to being successful,” Dr. Anissa Witherspoon, Office 308 secretary, said.
Dr. Witherspoon came to Webster with a passion for helping people.
“I’ve always had a passion for being an inspiration to young females,” Witherspoon said. “My background was a little rough in the beginning, and the odds were against me, so I think that is something I’ve always tried to do, just encouraging them to just keep going.”
Dwight Kirksey, assistant principal, said, “Dr. Witherspoon is caring and a person of integrity. She has already made room 308 a warm and welcoming place for students. She has a passion to connect with and work with students.”
Freshman Myles Thompson, said about Dr. Witherspoon, “I was nervous because of talking to new people, but she did make me feel comfortable.”
Before coming to Webster, Dr. Witherspoon earned her doctorate in California.
About what she wanted her legacy in Webster to be, Witherspoon said, “Just being known as a person that was willing to share my time, whether that be volunteering for any groups that help at-risk students or being able to make a difference in students’ lives.”
