To the Staff and Students of WGHS,
The Cafeteria is used by almost everyone, every day of school.
However, it still carries two pressing concerns that the School
Administration has not addressed.
First and foremost being the Hot Food section. This is likely one
of the most popular parts of the cafeteria, and yet in order to get
their food one must elbow their way through a crowd of people to the
counter to grab something, and back to the line to pay for it. There
is no clear path for a line to form or a flow of where to walk past
the counter to the register. And it’s not like there’s no solution to
this problem– just put up one of those ribbon barriers between the
counter and the register, for people to walk past the food and around.
That way, people can quickly walk through and get their food without
any needless pushing or shoving.
Secondly, is the seating situation. Already, there are barely
enough seats to sit all of the students at lunch. If you don’t get
your food fast enough, you can’t sit down. People steal chairs from
unattended spaces (even tables with backpacks marking someone’s claim
on the spot) and clump around one or two tables, leaving many tables
that have no chairs– rendering them useless. The solution? More large
tables that seat 10 or so students. But that won’t be the solution
when winter comes again and everyone is forced back inside.
Hopefully, the Administration does something.

A. Sparks
