Orchestra students prepare for upcoming MMEA event

The Missouri Music Educators Association is an event where music teachers from all around the state are invited to have their group perform at the event. In May preceding the event, each interested group submitted a video of a concert performance, and from there, they were judged and limited to the top three to play at the event.

This year, Webster’s Orchestra department has made the top three and will perform there on Jan. 26. The event is not open to the public due to the number of groups already attending, but parents will have the opportunity to attend if their child is performing there.

“I am really excited about performing at MMEA. I think that it’s a very cool experience and opportunity to play in this grand place in front of a lot of people,” senior Celia Alexander said.
