News Brief: Webster Groves elects new mayor, school board members

Webster Groves councilwoman Laura Arnold was elected mayor on Tues, April 4, defeating former councilwoman Kathy Hart with 54% of the vote in the most recent elections.

Continuing the 36-year streak of female mayors for the city, Arnold takes Gerry Welch’s place as mayor, who served since 1998.

Three new city council members were elected as well: Pam Bliss, David Franklin and Emily Hixson Shepherd.

For the school board election, Alex Kahn and Allen Todd were elected both for three year terms. Tara Scheer was elected for a one year term.
