Interact Club collected bags of toiletries and sanitation supplies for homeless shelters Feb. 5-19.
This isn’t the first time the club has done something like this; however, this is one of its bigger projects.
The drive, which collected about 500 items, was mainly organized by juniors London Furfaro and Molly Stevison.
“You can always donate. The donations never end. Only the drive ended,” Furfaro said.
The Interact Club hopes to do more drives and charity work next year. It has donated to the Covenant House and Gateway 180.
“This year was a weird year; we didn’t get to do as many volunteer projects as usual,” Stevison said.
This will be Calvin Lescher’s first year on ECHO staff, but he made several contributions while taking journalism class his sophomore year. He is excited to meet and interview interesting people. He hopes to make a positive contribution to the Echo.
