Junior Journalists: Future Leaders seminar welcomes incoming freshmen

Established in 2002, Future Leaders brings incoming freshmen to Webster Groves High School in order to prepare them for their first year as high school students.

The program was originally made to help at-risk students by former principal Jon Clark.  At the time, it had 18 students.

In 2005, it was opened to all incoming students by Jenni Vanderwalker.

Students attended many sessions in groups known as PODS including team building, problem solving and academic strategies.

The main purpose of the program is to help promote positive attitudes and Statesmen values.

The end of the week concluded with a POD skit competition, cheer competition and slideshow.
