New activities lead to Selma Street Dance
An activity fair and pep rally will precede this year’s Selma Street Dance in front of the school building on Aug. 16.
Admission to the dance, which begins at 7 p.m., is $1, and the participants are encouraged to wear their best “throwback attire.”
Grilled hot dogs and other foods will be available as well as a snow cone truck and a cookie dough truck.
The activities fair will begin at 6 p.m. and will provide students with information about school organizations.
The pep rally will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Drama holds auditions for fall play
Auditions for the fall play, “Chicago,” will be Aug. 20-21, in the auditorium, starting at 3 p.m. each day.
On Aug. 20, those auditioning will sing portions of songs from the show to test actors’ voices. All the sheet music is provided by the drama department.
On Aug. 21, those auditioning will be taught dance combos and tested in groups.
On Aug. 22, auditions will focus on acting.

A cappella groups begin year with meeting, auditions
Candidates for A-Ladies and A-Men are required to attend a meeting either Aug. 19, at 2:45 p.m. or Aug. 20, at 7:15 a.m. in room 321.
For the first round of auditions will be Aug. 21-23, at 2:45 p.m. in room 321, candidates must choose one of these three opportunities to perform a five-minute audition.
Call backs for A-Men will be Aug. 28, at 2:45 p.m. in room 321, and call backs for A-Ladies will be Aug. 29, at 2:45 p.m. in room 321.
Vocal percussionists are welcome to audition.
