Drama Department looking for student writers, actors
Calling all young script writers! The deadline for student one act submissions is Aug 17.
Drama teacher Todd Schaefer is looking for more pieces to extend the festival, which will be Sept. 26.
Student directors will be primarily casting these short plays.
For more information, to submit scripts or discuss acting roles, contact Schaefer in classroom 158. Schaefer is looking to help fix up and format student pieces with their authors.
Also, there’s a general meeting about a Shakespearean festival following the drama meeting Friday after school in the Black Box.
Run by senior Basil Sessen, the Shakespearean festival will be a compilation of plays, scenes, soliloquies written by William Shakespeare, as well as songs inspired by his writing.
To people thinking about participating in drama, Schaefer said, “Get involved with the drama department. It’s the easiest way to get your foot in the door.”
