Proposition S, the 65-cent tax rate increase, failed with 58 percent of voters in opposition, and Proposition W, the $28 million bond issue, failed with 56 percent in opposition.
The two tax proposals would have addressed overcrowding problems in elementary schools, bring all schools into ADA compliance, raise salaries and upgrade some facilities, including Moss Field.
