WGHS went into lockdown at 12:14 p.m. on Aug. 13, due to a nearby attempted robbery on the intersection of Lockwood and Plymouth Avenues.
“Two boys, both juveniles, attempted to steal a jogger’s phone,” said WGPD Lt. Andy Miller. “They are currently at (St. Louis County) Family Courts, and they are waiting for charges.”
The lockdown lasted about one hour, and the students were never in danger. “We went into lockdown for the safety of our students,” said Dr. Jon Clark, principal.
Both suspects were apprehended within two hours of the lockdown, Miller said.
Webster University, which was not in session, also went on lockdown; its lock down lasted about an hour as well.
