Science Teacher Jane Knittig has run three marathons and is currently training for her fourth in October. She picked up running during COVID as something to take up time, but it quickly became a passion.

Knittig has done one St. Louis marathon called the MO’ Cowbell Marathon.

The MO’ Cowbell Marathon “attracts over 5,000 runners from all over the world each year,” according to the Economic Development Council of St. Charles County.

While running, Knittig also enjoys listening to different kinds of audio books.

When going on runs, Knittig also loves to bring her German short hair pointer whom she has also slowly trained to be a runner too.

Knittig also has a second older dog who she has chosen not to take on runs because he is not too good at running.

Before Knittig became a runner, she found a love for teaching during her second year of college.

Knittig said, “It was kinda the time to declare my major, and I saw everything I was choosing to do and all my extra things were related to teaching.”

One of Knittig’s students Camden Leslie said, “She’s great at making difficult classes much less intimidating and makes it fun even when we’re just working on AP problems or something.”

Knitting also sponsors the Scholar Bowl club, which won third in State.
