In a week three matchup between Webster Groves and Parkway South, Webster took home a 38-point win at home field on Sept. 12, bringing its record to 2-to-1.

This season’s win marks Webster’s first win at Moss Field on the season, and Parkway South’s fourth loss in a row, dating back to last season. As for Webster, this was its second win in a row.
After losing to Parkway South last season, Webster Groves, in this season’s matchup against it, once they pulled away with an early lead. Quarterback Will Travers, especially, had 256 passing yards and threw four touchdown passes.
“I think our team has had a lot of improvement these past two weeks, not taking our foot off the gas the whole four quarters definitely showed last night, but like every team, we have things we still need to work on. I’m proud of my teammates on that win last night, and we will keep working at that conference championship,” sophomore linebacker Noah Banks said.
Webster started the game with momentum from its previous 28-12 win against Hazelwood West, holding back Parkway South to only seven points in the first half alone.
The game was quickly turned one-sided after Webster’s defense held back the offense of Parkway South, and the receiving contributions from senior wide receivers Kyron Brumley and Jonas Fagin.
Webster’s defense recorded 43 tackles from the defense and an interception by sophomore safety King Mitchell by the end of the game.
“I’m not surprised with how we performed. It’s very amazing seeing the fruits of our labor actually show out on the field, and seeing all our hard work pay off,” senior tight end Malakai Lewis said.
Webster Groves is scheduled to play Mehlville at Mehlville High School in a week five matchup, looking to extend their winning record to three. Mehlville is currently 1-3, coming off of a loss to Seckman in its most recent game.
