Slideshow: Traditional run brings together school, community

Athletes and well wishers gathered for  Ivory Crockett Run for Webster activities on the morning of Oct. 21.

The Webster Groves School District foundation sponsors the run to support its mission to expand learning opportunities, provide students and teachers with new curriculum, materials and experiences.

The foundation also uses proceeds from the Run for Webster to award annual Ivory Crockett Scholarships to several graduating seniors who are entering college in health-related fields.

The run is named for 1968 graduate Ivory Crockett, who in 1974 ran the 100-yard dash record in 9.0 seconds setting the new world record.
