Radio show host visits with campers

Kenny Murdock of the Murdock Report visited with a group of young journalists of the ECHO summer camp to speak with them about his life experiences and advise about journalism.
Murdock wanted to start to a radio show that offered a different opinion about politics. He started a radio show called “Murdock Report” in 2008.
Murdock’s inspiration was listening to things about Martin Luther King, Jr., the Suffragettes and other leaders combined with the Ferguson incidents with the police. He thought there was a space on the radio for another political voice.
Murdock advised that if one is trying to get something out he or she should write about it and post it online and in other different types of social media and also keep re-posting it over and over and over again until it gets popular, and people start to notice and see it
“The Truth is always out there; journalists always find the truth,” Murdock stated.
Kenny Murdock Speaks to Journalism Campers

Kenny Murdock is a political commentator, who has a radio show called “The Murdock Report,” now moving to 92.7 FM.
Murdock supports group thinking and believes that it should be a greater influence in our society.
“The truth is always out there, and journalists find out the truth,” Murdock said. He believes people shouldn’t vote emotionally, but logically.
Murdock was inspired by the social justice movement to have his opinions spread via radio and began his show in 2008.
“How do we all get along?” he said is a question resolved by politics. “Everything you do has a political element,” Murdock said.
Murdock got publicity when the Ferguson event occurred. He was interviewed by the Rachel Maddow Show. Murdock is a co-founder of the Black Lives Matter Political Action Committee.
Currently, he’s tracking the Presidential election, though he’s also involved in local and state elections.

Kenny Murdock is a political radio voice whose inspirations include Martin Luther King Jr. and social justice.
Murdock was very outgoing and energetic with the campers. The campers were even prompted and allowed to ask questions.
“Everything you do has a political element” was one of Murdock’s main focuses in his discussion.
“The little rules impact your life,” Murdock said.
The reason Murdock began radio broadcasting is because he wanted to get his voice out.
“The truth is always out there and journalists have to find it,” Murdock said. “Journalism has an impact on all of you.”
Murdock shared a small story from his childhood in which he talked about how he lied about taking the trash out and just went on to explain how that intertwined with journalism.
Murdock even touched the subject of voting and how Americans feel obligated to vote based on emotion and authority.
