Latin students receive gold, silver medals

Twenty-four WGHS Latin students earned gold or silver medals for their performance in the National Latin Exam. According to

Latin teacher Jeff Smith, this places them “among the top Latin students in the nation.”

Over 153,000 students in all 50 states and 20 foreign countries take the exam.

The seven gold medalists were (Latin II) sophomores Luke Beggs, Madi Powers and Donovan Smith, (Latin III) juniors Cross Vitale, Gavin Turner and Anna Cooke, and (Latin IV) senior Robert Enyard.

The 17 silver medalists were (Latin I) freshmen Keillyn Johnson, Andy Downey, Matthew Lehmann, Abigail Wuebbeling and Katie Wollard, (Latin II) sophomores Emma Kerbler, Maddie Littleton, Bridget Kahrhoff and Grace Early and junior Hillary Gerber, (Latin III) juniors Anna Dodson, Annelise Kerr-Grant, Travis Williams, Emma Kaufman and Jack Killeen, and (Latin IV) seniors Ellie Pruneau and Michael Steele
