According to senior Lauren Newsome, “It’s the little moments in high school that are the best memories,” and she sticks with that statement.

Newsome has many favorite memories including beating Kirkwood in basketball and football, and little moments at the lunch table with her friends.

Newsome is Student Council (STUCO) president, a stage manager in Thespians, a member of Webster Challenge and so much more.

“It’s hard work,” Newsome said of being STUCO President adding, “It’s fun, and I love it, and I wish the best to (junior) Cory Mack in his presidency.”

As president, Newsome and the council planned the dances, helped with Turkey Day preparations and tried to find reasonable ways to make the school day interesting.

In Thespians, she helped stage manage “A Raisin in the Sun, Frankenstein” and “25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”

“When you see the actors come together on that stage, it’s like, weeks ago they did not know that line, and they finally got it because you worked with them, and it’s really rewarding,” Newsome said.
