Few students go above and beyond to excel. Senior Sara Risker, Eagle Award Nominee, did.

Risker has taken every opportunity given to her. With a 3.99 GPA and in all accelerated classes, Risker is a member of both National Honor Society and German National Honor Society.

Risker was nominated by math teacher Jessica Haskins who said Risker is one of the most giving people she knows with all the volunteer work she has done.

Risker volunteers at Animal Rescue Group, raised money for family in a third world country and participated in a mitten drive. She also adopted a military family doing yard work, housework and baby sitting.

She even goes to her grandparents’ house every day at Dependent Care Facility and makes lunch.

Risker wants to eventually become a diplomat. “I did an exchange program in Germany and that really spiked my interest, just learning more about their education system and other languages,” said Risker.

Risker added her aunt also contributed to her interest in becoming a diplomat.
