Senior Carly Borth plays principle clarinet in band and runs cross-country and track. She also learned trombone on the side to play in Jazz II.

She is going to Harding University and plans to major in music. She said she likes to sing and is trying out for a singing group.

She was featured in the jazz band’s “Duke Ellington Nutcracker Suite” as the solo clarinet last December.

“My favorite moment in high school was meeting my best friends in cross country,” Borth said.

Borth’s cross-country friend, junior Bethany Conerly, said, “I cry myself to sleep every night knowing I won’t be able to see Carly every day next year.”

Her favorite teacher at the high school was German teacher Brent Mackey. She was a part of National Honor Society and also German National Honor Society.

“A unique thing about Carly is she’s very afraid of doors smacking her in the face in the halls. She will cross the hallway just to avoid a door,” freshman Mariana Andrews said.

Borth said overall she thinks Webster has a great environment, and there are a lot of cool people.
