Varsity Softball finished with  a  23-2,  winning  record.  Webster’s with only two losses to softball powerhouse, Eureka.

Senior pitcher Emma Buckles lead the team with a .594 hitting average and five home runs, according to  STL High School Sports website.

“The main reason for our successwas our hard work in the off season; we  don’t have any weak players ” said Buckles.

“We hoped to make it to State, but there were some other good teams that outplayed us at the time,” said Buckles.

“It was unfortunate that we had to play Eureka so early in the playoffs.”

Buckles hopes to go on and play softball in college.

“I’m visiting schools this fall and hope to make a decision soon,” Buckles said.

Buckles’ statistics and pitching ability are definitely to her benefit for Division I softball.

The Softball team has ended up with one of its best seasons in school history under the leadership of  Buckles and seniors Anna Heidinger, Kyra Navia and Brittany Schweiger.

Next year’s team looks to benefit from only losing only four seniors.
